The All India IPSC Cultural Festival came to an end last evening with the closing ceremony, which was held in the Bhavsinhji Hall at 5.00 p.m. During the cultural festival which lasted for 3 days, the campus was filled with enthusiasm, excitement, anxiety, fun and above all creativity. Eleven public schools across the country participated in 17 different events held here.
The 1st position was bagged by The Rajkumar College, Rajkot, 2nd position was bagged by Welham Girls School, Dehradun and the 3rd positon was bagged by Maharani Gayatri Devi Girls School, Jaipur. However keeping up the Rajkumar College’s tradition, the college being the Host did not accept the winner’s trophy but handed it over to Welham Girls School. Amidst all this euphoria, Mr. V. Kumavat, the teacher escorting the Maharani Gayatri Devi Girls School delegates, suffered a massive heart attack. Timely help and availability of the best treatment in the city saved his life.
The Principal of the Rajkumar College, Mr. Vinodkumar Thakkar appreciated the students of the Maharani Gayatri Devi Girls School for their calm composure throughout the event.He thanked all the students and staff who made the event a success. He said that all the artists were equally talented and it must have made the judges’ job difficult.
He introduced the Chief Guest – Shri Jayantiji Naik to the audience who is a well-renowned sculptor and taught designing in National Institute of Design for two and a half decades. He is the winner of Lalit Kala Academy and Gujarat Gaurav Award. Mr. Thakkar told Mr. Jayantiji Naik that by receiving prize from his hands, a little of his great artistic potential will be transmitted to the receiver and tomorrow they may also achieve what he has achieved in the field of Arts.When asked to address the gathering, Shri. Jayantiji Naik said that he was fortunate to be a part of such an important event held at the Rajkumar College, whose students decades ago had played an important role in the moulding of his life by their discipline and conduct. He commended the efforts of the Principal, Mr. Thakkar and his team for the hard work for their success of this event.
